CLOSING CEREMONY OF THE VIETMUS PROJECT WORKSHOP: JOURNEY TO INTEGRATE GLOBAL MUSIC EDUCATION

NUAE – On the morning of March 30, 2025, the National University of Art Education held the Closing Ceremony of the VIETMUS Project Workshop “The musichathon on-site lab and the music start cup”. This is an important event marking the success of the intensive training program on digital music technology, opening a new direction in music education in Vietnam.

Attending the closing ceremony were the VIETMUS Coordinating Board, coordinators who are project members of the European Union: Palermo Conservatory (Italy), Eramushogeschool Brussel (Belgium), Yasar University (Turkey) and project members from Vietnamese universities including Thu Dau Mot University, An Giang University, Ha Long University, University of Education – Da Nang University, Dong Thap University, Central University of Art Education. The closing ceremony also had the direct and online participation of member universities of the Cultural – Artistic Training Institutes Club.

On the side of the National University of Art Education, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Vinh Hung – Rector, M.A. Trinh Thi Thanh – Vice Rector, representatives of leaders of units, lecturers, students and students of the University.

The VIETMUS project officially launched in January 2023 with the aim of promoting digital transformation and building new digital capabilities in teaching and performing in the higher education system of Music in Vietnam. The project is implemented with 06 work packages designed to meet the challenges in the field of music education and adapt to the global digital transformation trend.

Within the framework of the training program, task packages No. 4 and No. 5 of the project were held at the National University of Art Education from March 25 to 30, 2025. During the five training days, the project successfully implemented a training program on digital music production, providing many important knowledge and skills for lecturers and students. Learners are not only introduced to the Moodle online learning platform and teaching support software, but are also introduced to advanced simulated audio editing tools. In addition to acquiring theory, the program focuses on practice with automation management software, guiding methods for building and implementing professional music projects. In particular, the program also extends to the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in music composition and in-depth practice with Chataigne software, helping students explore their creative potential and apply modern technology in practice.

Representing the National University of Art Education, delivering the closing speech of the Training Program, the Rector of the University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Vinh Hung emphasized the significance of the training program for the development of music education in Vietnam. The Associate Professor affirmed: The training program of the VIETMUS Project “The musichathon on-site lab and the music start cup” was a great success and completed the tasks according to the schedule and progress of the project. The training helped lecturers and students grasp the basic knowledge of digital music technology and develop creativity. In particular, the combination of theory and practice created an effective learning environment, helping lecturers and students confidently implement their own ideas. Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Vinh Hung shared: “Looking back on the journey of implementing the VIETMUS Project, I am extremely excited about the proud achievements we have achieved. This training session not only marks the successful end of the project but also opens up a wide horizon of cooperation in the future – not limited to Vietnamese universities but also reaching out to art education institutions around the world. The project has created a solid foundation for us to continue to accompany and improve the professional capacity of our staff and lecturers, while opening up valuable opportunities for students to develop their potential and hone their personal skills in the field of music”. On behalf of the Project Management Board at the National University of Art Education, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Vinh Hung expressed his deep gratitude to the experts from universities in the European Union who were present today, the project members, coordinators, lecturers from 06 universities in Vietnam and member universities of the Cultural and Arts Training Club who participated in the direct and online training. Speaking at the program, Prof. Raffaele Longo, Director of the VIETMUS Project, on behalf of the Project Coordination Board, expressed his sincere thanks to the students – those who contributed their intelligence, creativity and enthusiasm, contributing to the success of the project. It is their active participation that has created an inspiring learning and working environment. At the same time, the Professor thanked the member universities for accompanying, supporting and creating favorable conditions for the effective implementation of the project. In particular, the National University of Art Education has provided a professional working space, helping experts have the opportunity to learn, exchange and develop.

The Professor affirmed: This project is not only an opportunity to acquire knowledge but also a bridge for cultural exchange, raising environmental awareness and promoting international cooperation. The values ​​we have achieved will be the foundation for continued expansion and development in the future.

The special event of the training program is the VIETMUS Music Start Cup Competition – a creative playground for young talents to demonstrate their passion and abilities. With the aim of encouraging innovation in the field of music and creating opportunities for students to develop their talents, the Competition has honored the most outstanding talents through prestigious awards: Innovative Concept Cup: Honoring the most innovative musical ideas; Excellence in Performance Award: Honoring the best performance; Outstanding Quality Trophy: For works of the highest artistic quality; Sustainability Impact Award: Works with positive impacts on the environment and society; Creative Vision Award: Honoring uniqueness and timeliness. These awards are not only a recognition of the efforts of the students, but also a motivation for them to continue pursuing their passion for music and contributing to enhancing the position of Vietnamese and world music.

The closing ceremony of the VIETMUS Project Training not only marked the success of a meaningful training program but also continued to open up a new step forward in art education in Vietnam.
