Opening of the VIETMUS Project Workshop “The Musichathon on-site Lab and the Music Start Cup”
NUAE – From March 25-30, 2025, the VIETMUS Project Workshop “The Musichathon on-site Lab and the Music Start Cup” was held at the National University of Art Education. The activity is within the framework of the project “VIETnam Music Universities Spurring – VIETMUS”.
The workshop was attended by representatives from project partners from the European Union: Conservatorio Di Musica Di Stato Alesssandro Scarlatti Palermo (Italy), Eramushogeschool Brussel (Belgium), Yasar Universitesi (Turkey), Association Européenne Des Conservatoires, Académies De Musique Et Musikhochschulen (Belgium) and project members from Vietnamese universities including National University of Art Education, Thu Dau Mot University, An Giang University, Ha Long University, University of Education – Da Nang University, Dong Thap University. In addition to attending in person, project members also attended the workshop online..
On the side of the National University of Art Education, there were Associate Professor, Dr. Le Vinh Hung – Rector, M.A. Trinh Thi Thanh – Vice Rector, Dr. Nguyen Van Dinh – Vice Rector, representatives of leaders of units, lecturers, trainees and students of the University.
The National University of Art Education is proud to participate in the first international music project for students, called “VIETnam Music Universities Spurring – VIETMUS”. This project, funded by the European Union, aims to promote music education in universities across Vietnam. As the first international music project in the arts sector in Vietnam, VIETMUS offers valuable opportunities for participating training institutions and, more broadly, for music education programs in Vietnam to enhance knowledge and skills in performing arts, modern musical instruments and digital applications in arts education.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Vinh Hung – Deputy Head of the VIETMUS Project Management Board at NUAE, Rector of the Central University of Fine Arts, affirmed: The VIETMUS project is an opportunity for lecturers and students around the world to study and experience the performance skills training program on digital platforms; at the same time, access study abroad opportunities in Belgium, Italy, Turkey and major universities around the world. The National University of Art Education has participated in many projects and programs to exchange and develop the capacity of lecturers and students of the Univeristy. Most recently, the Univeristy has cooperated with domestic and foreign universities to participate in the MOTIVE project. This is a wonderful opportunity to help improve the School’s human resources quality and meet the requirements of businesses for human resources. Therefore, it opens up many career opportunities and helps promote the process of completion, enhancing the cognitive capacity and development of the University’s students in the fields of Culture – Arts. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Vinh Hung hopes, “Through this training program, we can realize the application and use of music software in the training process, knowledge exchange and personal development in the future”.

Speaking at the program, Prof. Nuno Cernadas – Eramushogeschool Brussel (Belgium), hoped that in a week of working with lectures and presentations, students would easily access musical elements of performance, teaching, distance teaching, and music practice. Prof. Nuno Cernadas also hoped to learn and exchange knowledge with other schools.

Following the program, Coordinators and Members attended the Roundtable Meeting. The main purpose of this Roundtable Meeting is to exchange information and opinions of members on promoting the application of technology in music education, performance, and production.

Before the Opening Ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Vinh Hung, Deputy Head of the VIETMUS Project Management Board at NUAE, Rector of the National University of Art Education, had a meeting and discussion with Member institutes of the VIETMUS Project. At the meeting, the delegates discussed in depth the direction of project implementation at members, shared experiences, and built specific cooperation plans to bring practical benefits to the teaching staff and students of all universities. “We believe that this platform will be a place for students to introduce personalized music products to their peers around the world, opening up a prestigious and healthy music playground for all students” – Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Vinh Hung shared.

Prof. Nuno Cernadas – Eramushogeschool Brussel, Belgium shared the MUSICHATHON Lab with the topic of the automation task programming with Chataigne. Chataigne is a free, open-source software made with one goal in mind : create a common tool for artists, technicians and developers who wish to use technology and synchronize software for shows, interactive installations or prototyping. It aims to be as simple as possible for basic interactions, but can be easily extended to create complex interactions.
