NUAE Musicians’ Association Reviews the 2021–2026 Term and Sets Directions for Future Development
On the morning of June 24, 2026, the NUAE Branch of the Vietnam Musicians’ Association held its annual meeting to review and evaluate its activities during the 2021–2026 term, while setting out directions and key tasks for the coming period. The meeting also provided an opportunity for members to exchange professional experiences, share their aspirations and perspectives, and propose practical solutions to further enhance the effectiveness of the Branch’s activities in the new stage of development.
The meeting was attended by composer Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Vinh Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice President of the National University of Arts Education, and Head of the NUAE Branch of the Vietnam Musicians’ Association, together with members of the Branch.

At the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Vinh Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice President of the National University of Arts Education, and Head of the NUAE Branch of the Vietnam Musicians’ Association, presented the Branch’s activity report for the 2021 – 2026 term. The report highlighted the Branch’s significant role in bringing together composers, lecturers, and artists of the University, making valuable contributions to music composition, scientific research, artistic performance, and education and training.
According to the report, the NUAE Branch currently has 26 members out of a total of 1,640 members of the Vietnam Musicians’ Association. During the 2021 – 2026 term, its members actively participated in a wide range of professional activities, achieved notable accomplishments, and made meaningful contributions to both the University’s development and Vietnam’s musical community.
In the field of music, particularly composition, many members published new works and received prestigious awards at national music competitions and festivals. Outstanding contributors included musicians Le Dung, Nguyen Dang Nghi, Tran Hoang Tien, Le Vinh Hung, Pham Trong Toan, Le Hai Thuan, and Tran Quoc Thuy. These achievements further demonstrated the professional excellence and artistic reputation of the Branch’s members.
In addition to creative activities, the Branch continued to promote music theory, criticism, and scientific research. Many members were actively involved in ministerial-level and university-level research projects, contributing to the enhancement of educational quality, the advancement of music scholarship, and the University’s academic reputation.
The Branch’s members also made significant contributions to artistic performance and production in both instrumental and vocal music. Composers and performers such as Pham Hong Phuong, Dao Van Kien, Tran Quoc Thuy, Tran Mai Tuyet, and Lai Thi Phuong Thao played active roles in performances, artistic productions, and artistic direction. Their work not only promoted artistic values but also enriched the University’s practice-oriented education.
As lecturers, Branch members also played an essential role in teaching, supervising students’ academic and artistic development, and mentoring them for professional competitions. Under the guidance of lecturers such as Dinh Cong Hai and Lai Thi Phuong Thao, many students received awards at national and international competitions, further affirming the quality and reputation of education at the National University of Arts Education.
During the meeting, delegates engaged in in-depth discussions to review the Branch’s achievements and propose a range of measures to further enhance its activities in the coming years. Participants agreed on the need to continue promoting music composition, strengthen academic and professional exchanges among members, identify and nurture young talents within the University’s arts education environment, and innovate the content and format of Branch activities to make them more practical and effective. In particular, the Branch will focus on membership development, especially young composers, to build a strong successor generation and ensure the Branch’s sustainable development in the coming period.
On this occasion, the Branch also agreed to nominate 6 members to participate in the National Congress of the Vietnam Musicians’ Association, which is scheduled to be held in August 2026.

In a spirit of solidarity and consensus, the members engaged in productive discussions and reached agreement on several important issues, providing a solid foundation for the Branch’s activities in the coming years. The achievements of the 2021 – 2026 term, together with the strategic directions endorsed at the meeting, will enable the Branch to further strengthen its role in bringing together composers, promoting music composition, research, performance, and education, while contributing to the continued development of the Vietnam Musicians’ Association and the advancement of arts education at the National University of Arts Education.
